"That, Sheig, my friend, would be a bridle-- simply for leading them, though they really do not need it. We can remove them though. Usually do."
Dima moved to deftly pull the bridle off the bay he led, then the white mare. The first stood perfectly still as he left her side.
"See? She knows her place, and she'll stay there, even if she's spooked. We generally just loosely tie them to a post or something to mark that they do belong to someone, but so that they can get away if something spooks them. They'll always come back."
Seremidal smiled slightly and stepped back inside as Dima nudged the white beauty's shoulder. The creature stepped gracefully over to Sheig, held out an elegant neck momentarily, shied back from the paws, then stopped, obviously waiting for her to mount.
"She behaves herself rather well, actually. She is rather worried about those lion's paws," the fellow commented as he watched before his weariness returned. He deftly lept to the back of the bay--his choice ride of all the citadel--grasped the mane, and led the creature back into the woods with a click of his tongue and gentle leg motions before stopping to wait.

Sheig nodded at the simple logic and mounted the horse in a fluid motion that would have made court nobles envy her. She was not used to such a mare, those that she rode in the desert where more finely boned but larger and more straight-backed.
Harder to ride than this.
She kept on the paws, gently stroked the mane of the mare for a second before grasping the mane with expert grace and trotting after Dima.
"She is beautiful! does she have a name, Dima?"

"Hrive... The bay is Kaia."
he then fell silent for a long few minutes. He seemed to be pondering, or something along those lines, going over everything that had happened in this night. So many things had happened. Was it possible for so many things to go wrong in such a short amount of time?
"One of his dreams was to be able to dance with her again," he finally muttered. "They rarely went to dinner, sat in private to eat. But she taught him to slow dance. He couldn't do so if his life depended on it... He was always the last standing in a throw dance, but... He had two left feet when it came to even a medium speed waltz. He just wanted to dance with her when she returned..."

Sheig looked away for a moment, then chukled bitterly,
"Damn, Dima, you really know how to make a girl wanna cry..."
she blinked and glanced his way, a content smile on her face,
"They would have only had sadness in this world, I know, becouse Tiire always was aon the move. Searching for somthing... Im sure she loved him with all her heart, and now Im sure she can teach him to dance whilst their souls, ever united, tread the afterlife."
She looked up at the sky, now a light blue in the early morning sunlight,
"Is there a woman in your life as well?"
she asked out of simple curiosity.

"There is," he responded softly after a long few moments of silence, pondering on what she'd spoken before hand about dancing with the spirits.
Then he paused again, rocking lightly with the movements of the bay Kaia. Why had she asked?
The thought of her being 'interested' did not cross his mind, as it might in others. On the other hand, he took it as the simple curiousity it was.
"How about you?" he finally asked. "Well... a man, that is."
he would guess not, if she were the way she described Tiire, though one could not be sure, of course.

"Me? no. There never has been. Tiire was the flirter, and I... I have always been a fool when it came to love. When I was younger I would sit up at night waiting for my faerie prince to whisk me away...
I have long scince stopped waiting, or even hoping for a love in my life."
Sheig chukled, nodding when Dima had said there was a woman in his life. Of course there was! he was such a kind man.
"Whomever she is, Im sure she is a very lucky girl to have the love of somone so kind, Dima."

He was silent for a long few moments as they finally entered the gates of the citadel. He gazed around the thinning woods a moment.
"Some would disagree," he managed after a few moments more, then fell completely silent again.
And that silence was broken by only the near silent fall of the hooves of equine forms on lightly leaf-covered grasses and the cry of the early morning creatures that had taken the place of those that called earlier in the darkness of the night.

Sheig contemplated this for a moment or so, enjoying the silence. It seemed to be her that made to most noise, but even so the copper chimes in her hair only made the slightest music in the breeze.
She turned her beautiful breaded head in his direction, watching Dima intently.
"We all make enemies along the way, dear friend. And it is my personal opinion that that woman is very, very lucky to have your heart in her hands."
as they plodded silently on Sheig hummed a few soft songs that didnt include words, just a soft whispering breath passing by, as if her soul where speaking softly.

He himself contemplated thanking her. He glanced at her momentarily, but didn't wait to see if she noticed before gazing forward into the meadows ahead again. If she noticed the gaze, she would have known that thanks.
But he did not speak, so the glance would serve. For somehow, he suspected that even if she'd not seen that glance, she would feel it well enough. And for nothing else to think about away from the night's happenings... He thought of Akila.
Well, they were already on the subject, so why shouldn't he think of her? As Shieg hummed and they neared the citadel itself's white stone walls, he simply pictured her face.
It was not one that most would consider beautiful-- far too elongated, with a nose resting proportionally much too far down it. And her beautifully coloured lavender eyes were placed unevenly there. But her lips and brows were thin and beautifully curved, the brows slightly browner than her strawberry-blonde hair...

Sheig noted his thanks with a smile, but let them keep their silence for a while. She looked at the citadel with much the opposite reaction of Tiire, even though she loved open spaces:
Tiire saw it as being trapped, a cage for her.
Sheig saw it as the wonderous architechture it was, a resting post for her. She knew that the opsen spaces she craved where short distances away.
Sheig was much more practical, and less explosivce with her temper. she could fight better than most but prefered to do it in training, laughing at her and her aponents misfortunes when they made the wrong move,

Almost there... Just a minute or so more, and he could fall into his bed in his room and sleep... Forget about everything that had happened this horrible, eventful night.
But first he had the duty of making sure she had a room and that they would have breakfast in the morning... She could certainly not be expected to rise early and dine with the rest of the citadel. They would have trays in their rooms... Yes, that was it.
It wasn't much... But it seemed like a lot to a weary man. But he would sleep into the day, and enjoy that sleep. Surely Lord Aricin would understand? Of course he would...
"There..."
He dismounted Kaia and landed with a quiet thump on the ground that wouldn't have been there if he weren't so weary. He then gave a pat to the mare's rump. She immediately trotted off a ways, then turned as if to wait for her snow white companion.
"Come, I suppose. I'll have a room readied for you. You should find it comfortable... And sleep in as late as you wish in the morning. There will be a tray of breakfast waiting for you then. I'll arrange it... It's been a long night..."

Sheig dimounted and smiled gratfully at Dima, her eyes shining ever so slightly with her gratitude. She had buried her best friend, saved a mans life, not eaten, and not gotten any sleep.
She was so tired, and here was dima, offering her exactly what she needed.
"I swear you where sent from the heavens my friend!"
she said wearily, patting the horse once before letting it join its friend. Out of impulse she reached over and cheked his head wound, frowning slightly and muttering for a second.
"Its swollen again..."
but still no infection. Good. She didnt want him to be coused any more pain, it wasnt fare to him. Besides, there where healers here that could help. She turned and started to walk staggeringly twoqards the citadel. If Dima hadent been as tired as she, she probably would have fainted, but her determination not to make any more toroble for him; alongside her being used to not sleeping for days in a row during the armies, kept her awake.

He caught himself from reaching up to snatch her hand out of the air and away from his head out of impulse again, as he had back in the clearing when he'd awoken.
But instead of doing so, his arm only twitched once as if he'd slammed his elbow into some hard item, then he passed her before stopping at the steps. He glanced at her a moment through his weary eyes and stepped backward a pace to where she was and wrapped an arm about her waist.
Despite weariness, he was determined to be a gentleman. And strength could be shared at a moment as such. So he pulled her into him ever so slightly and began up the steps, yet determined to help in supporting her weight. He could manage, no matter how she felt about his condition.

Sheig yelped in surprise when he grasped ehr about the waist, protesting for only a moment before realxing into the aquard embrace as they walked. For better leverage and better position, she slipped an arm around him as well.
She wasnt the only one to be helping here!
sheyeliyah barley stumbled, but also barley took notice in wherever they where going. She just followed Dima with shuffling steps of her lion-paws.

As they reached the top of the steps and the main hall, he glanced around until he caught sight of three servants heading towards their quarters. Two of the men walked together, the other was a few weary paces behind.
Dima quickly removed his arm from about Shieg's waist and approached them, halting them with a few quiet words.
"If you would be so kind... You two there, would you please hurry upstairs and ready this lady a room near to mine? Then straight to bed and let none tell you different. You there... Please carry a message to the healers and have one come up to my room... and then to the kitchens and make sure they know to bring two trays in the morning-- one to my room, and one to that prepared for Shieg. Can you remember that?"
The other two had disappeared, and the third nodded. "Take my seat at breakfast in the morning. And like the other two, after the messages are delivered, head straight for your bedding, and let none order you different. If they do, tell them that Dima ordered naught."
He then turned to Shieg, gazing in the direction of the hallway that the other two had dashed in. "If we walk slowly as we have been, they'll be on their way back before we get there. So, that pace should fit," he said lightly as he returned to her side, watching as the third fellow skidded around a corner and towards the healer's halls.
