Gadrealia walked along the rows of books her mouth open slightly, she had never seen so many books in one place before. she pulled one from it's shelf, It was a great leather bound book, flipping through it at random it spoke of a great Elven leader, she wasn't sure who. The girl placed it back and took another, she would go on like this. After skimming over a few books she looked up to see if anyone was around she wasn't sure if she was even allowed in here. Though seeing no one she returned to the book with a short sigh.

"What are you reading, M'lady?" asked a strong voice from behind. The owner of the voice stood tall, hands resting neatly behind his back. His lavish attire was obvious, instantly giving away his identity to those familiar with the city. He patiently awaited a reply, though certainly he knew the answer already.

The girl jumped slightly and turned "OH, er I'm not sure what it's called" She flipped the small book so the cover would show. (I'm being lazy at the moment and I can't really think about what the book would be called) "I'm sorry my curiosity got the better of me, this is what is called a library, right?" She asked. Gadrealia bit her lower lip, which was a habit for her.

"A Library it is indeed, lady. That book is one I particularly favor. It is titled 'The Scarlet Diadem.'" The man spoke with a gentle authority, though such was habit and inadvertantly done. He was himself a wearied rule, or perhaps rather in his prime, but he felt as though his life was old and worn. Much had scarred his heart in the past, and it was a wonder that he was not as bitter as others might have been.

The girl smiled a small smile, admiring his authority to herself. "It is a lovely book" she nodded looking over the cover.

The man was altogether taken aback by her current unrecognition of him. He, after all, was Lord of Avalbane. He found a certain comfot in this ignorance, though, and took advantage of the conversation. "M'lady, I do not recognize you as being a resident of this land. May I inquire of your title and, perhaps, residence?" he asked softly, voiced hushed and delicate.

"Eh, well I don't really have a title, just Gadrealia and I travel a lot so I don't really have a residence, I'm just visiting" she said with a small smile.

"Ah, the youth of today, always out and about trying to find a purpose, " he droaned as he heaved thoughtful a sigh, "Of course, I already had a purpose when I was young." His last words were said with such a vague sadness one would almost assume he desired such a life.

"You do not like it here?" she asked tilting her head to the side, she would be amazed if he said yes, it seemed so nice here. Gadrealia bit her lower lip again.

"No. How can I not? A lord who does not cherish his and and it's people is no worthy ruler at all. It is only memory that fades it's beauty from my eyes, and folly for me to let it do so."

"oh" Gadrealia said simply, she didn't know what to say. she shuffled a little bit unsure of what to do.

"curiosity really, I was looking around a little bit and the door caught my eye" she nodded, setting the book down on it's shelf.

"I see. Did you, perhaps, meet any of the guards? I would hear naught of a guest merely wandering into my city," he interrogated with curiousity.

"Well, no" she said simply after she had thought for a moment. "I haven't seen any guards yet" she shuffled a little bit and ran her eyes around the library before returning her gaze to the man.

"Oh, no guards? Curators? Unheard of! Why do I pay them? Not to sit on on their elven hides and drink my fine rum, I assure you. What holds this city together? Order. I need order. Am I in need of council? We've not had one in years! What is this city coming to? We shall crumble, I tell you. Crumble into tiny little fragments. Assasins we'll poison the Citadel. I...." he mumbled, rambling about all the tremendous catastrophies that would occur if such slacking continued, most of which would probably never happen. Eventually he paused, realizing his paranoia, and apologized.
"M'lady, forgive me. Such long years of lordship can drive one insane."

"Oh, forgive me, I've not properly introduced myself, though you may already know me. I am Aricin, Lord of Avalbane." he said with failing dignity, then fiddled with his fine robes, unsure of any conversation that would last with this lady of few words. "Tis an honor," he ended, bowing his head politely.

"It is an honor to meet you as well, sir" she did her best curtsy. "I had an idea that you might have been the lord of Alvabane but I was not sure, so I did not bring it up" She nodded tugging absentmindedly at a loose thread on her sleeve.

" I suppose I should leave you to your studies, then? I could introduce you to a servant if you are in need of company. As for me, I must hence, for I leave the city today. forgive my breif aquiantence. Were I not Lord of Avalbane I would stay, but, as they say, duty calls."
