Sheig returned the smile, if a bit confusedly. Just a soft gentle smile that basically said, 'hush, calm down, tell me whats wrong so I can help' she was so confused.
What was he doing? wasnt he going back... Aricin had said he was going back. He was leaving. That had been her focal point. He would leave and she would forget about him, just like he told her too.
Becouse she only wanted those around her to be happy, so if making herself invisible made Aricin happy then she would avoid him.
But why... why such an expression on his face? the dear, pained man spoke her name so... lostly.

He could not help but hang his head and massage his face wearily again, gazing at the floor.
“Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea,” he murmered softly, standing again after a few long moments of silence. “This wasn’t a good idea at all… Forgive me, Shieg.”
He stood again, then took the moment to gaze down at her with the same sad but gentle smile.
“This is all so strange, Shieg… I’m sorry if I tend to be acting strangely.”
I’ve never felt this way before… Why does the girl have just so much influence on me? Dear Eru, won’t you help me out of this? And her? We’re both so lost… Help us Iluvitar…
he ran his hands through his hair distractedly and started jerkily towards the door again.

Sheig stood slowly, looking up at him only when he was standing at the door. He couldent leave like this! he had wanted to say somthing and she wanted to hear it.
Whatever it was....
She walked forward and placed her hand on his shoulder, gently stalling his movements. What had been so important?
"Please..."
she whispered,
"Tell me what you where going to say..."

He swallowed once more, then turned, gazing almost pleadingly at her.
“Actually, I’m not sure myself,” he replied after a few moments, continuing to gaze at her.
With that, he turned away once more, beginning to open the door, then pausing.
“I’m very sorry about everything that’s happened, Shieg. So very sorry that all of this is going on. So very sorry that…”
Again, his cheek muscle throbbed slightly, and he turned once more, this time opening the door.

"No... don't leave. You are troubled, please... I want to know..."
She enwrappped him in a gentle hug from behind, a comforting touch, as always.
"I dont want to know that I have coused you to be unhappy, becouse then that would make me unhappy and I really dont want to be the reason Im unhappy..."

He turned within her comforting embrace and pulled back slightly, taking one of her wrists in each hand, then simply gazing into her eyes a moment before hanging his head once more.
“Shieg—you cannot do that to yourself, please… Besides, I’m not unhappy, dear… Just a bit confused with your actions and my own… very lost as to everything that’s happening right now. Don’t be upset about my emotions… Yes, you have every right to be upset about what I’ve done in this time, but not about how I’m feeling so lost. You cannot be upset for me when you’re already upset for yourself. Come now… I must go… I have to think…”
But he paused a moment, simply standing there, holding her hands gently in his as he stood close to her. Then, out of impulse, he leaned forward and placed a second, gentle kiss on her forehead before finally turning and opening the door all the way again, then stepping outside of the room at a once more hesitant gait, but when he reached the steps, began up them steadily.

"But do you want to go?"
She murmured, noting how hesitant his movements where.
"I dont want you too..."
She hated being left alone. and this situation was the worst yet....
"I was not upset with your actions... you had every right...."

"Truth?" he asked softly, turning on the stairs ang gazing down at her. "Truth is, I don't know."
He carefully, as any gentleman would, kept his gaze directly on her face. What would one expect from one of his standards? If he turned his gaze downward from that, his gaze would be directly down the loose fitting tunic she wore over the top portion of her body.
"I think I need to, though," he managed after a few long moments of pause. "If you feel you need to speak to me... My room is the one with double doors at the top of the stairs. You'll find it easily enough."

She smiled, a bit of a forced smile, and nodded. He did not know so she could not ask.
"I will have to apologise in advance if I wake you, scince you could hear my singing Im sure youll hear me scream... I am prone to nightmares.
Unlike.... Tiire, I think being alone is the worst thing in the world and I get... so afraid, when I am in my bed, in the dark, with no one to comfort me.
The feeling enters my dreams... just darkness... lonely darkness... so... yes, I apologise if I wake you or any others..."
The thought of turning around to an empty bed was a hard thought, laying there, all alone. But she dealt with it, all the time. The past few days though, she had been to exaughsted to dream.
When she had first found out that working herself so hard that she nearly fainted- indeed sometimes she did- would keep the nightmares at bay, she used to do it all the time.
But tonight....

"I wouldn't know about Tiire... I rarely spoke to her-- or rather, she rarely spoke to me. She and Silas were hardly ever at dinner, and she was gone a very long time before-- well, you know."
He then smiled again, in something quite near an echoe of her own forced one.
"No need to apologize though, Shieg. Your cries will be tolerated-- or else visited by a healer."
He did not mention this in order to cause her pain-- actually, he said it to lighten the mood. If it helped or not was to be decided.
He gave a tiny wink and continued up the stairs.

Sheig really hated the idea of him leaving but all she did was tilt her head in consent and re enter her room, shutting the door forlornly behind her. The noise echoed down the silent hallway, the click of the door sliding into place.
She looked outside at the moon, shoked to find it must have been around 10:00, the inky black sky covered with thick clouds. Even as she crawled into bed and shut the windows the first droplets of what was to be a heavy rainstorm hit the windows.
Her eyes filled with tears. Wonderful. Just freaking wonderful. Pitch black and raining.... she hated the rain, she feared it. Rain meant death... the screaming of the dying, the laughing of those horrid dark elves....
Sheig could not, however, pull the curtains tio obscure her view. The moon was her only light, and she feared darkness almost as much as the storm that now raged outside.
Slowly she fell to sleep to the sound of the rain on her window....
The little girl yawned and snuggled agains her mother, lulled to sleep by the sound of the rain on the tent. Her hair was short, only around her shoulders, and braided in her clans tradition.
Everything was well...
Dark shapes moved silently around the camp fires, silencing the watch. It took until a woman awoke from the feel of her husbands blood dripping on her facxe from a sword, screaming, until everyone woke up to know the danger.
"mama! MAMA!!"
the child screamed as she was dragged by her hair, covered in her parents blood. It dribbled off her as the rain, having put out the feeble campfires, poored down relentlessly. This was the first time the child had ever seen it rain, her family lived in a very desolate place.
And with the rain had come these... monsters...
"Please! PLEASE! mama! Daddy!! Uncle!"
She screached in pain and curled up into a little ball, the dark creatures having tossed her to the ground infront of a cave. They had tossed most of the dead there as well, and as they threw her to the ground, laughing, they threw her mothr there as well.
Her mother was still living, barely. She grabbed her child and held the terrified thing close, before her throut was slit....
"Blood... mama.... dont leave.... so much blood...."
Her terrified screams had slowed into murmurings. She lay curled in a ball, hugging her pillow close to her and she sobbed relentlessly, alone... all alone...

Sheigs cries of horror turned into screams of pain. Unknown tortures that plauged her body, and she sobbed, cryed as the rain pounded ont he windows. Unbenounced to those listening, she had curled up so tight, hugging her body to her chest.
Her screams turned into choking sobs, unable to wake up, having none to comfort her. Her bed was always so cold and empty, what she would do for one night of comfort...
For somone to find a way to make her forget the pain. Find some way to make her forget how scared she was...

She rolled over in her sleep, slipping from the bed and landing without blankets on the floor, curled up in a little, miserable ball.
She shuddered at the sudden cold, remembering the darkness.. the pain in her dreams....
and screamed. Loudly.

As the fellow reached the door to Shieg’s room, he heard the thump. The girl had rolled the bed in her nightmares, he thought. And entered the room warily to see her asleep on the ground.
But turned his head as he noticed how she lay. He’d forgotten that all she wore was a tunic that fell just barely past her torso.
So he approached through the screams and quickly pulled a blanket from the bed, lay it over her, and hefted her into his arms. He then lay her gently on the bed before sitting himself down beside her, gazing down at her sadly.
Poor creature… If only he knew what was wrong, then perhaps he could help. He could tell by the way she acted earlier that she didn’t want to be alone—truly didn’t want to be alone—even if it weren’t him with her. But what had there been to do? She had said she was prone to nightmares, but of this sort?
He gently stroked her cheek, continuing to look sadly at her.

Sheigs eyes flickered open blindly when he lay her down on the bed, scarcly awake and still terrified. She reached out for the warmest thing closest to her-Aricin- and clung to him desperatly, eyes closed and she whimpered...
"make it go away... make the storm go away so they wont hurt me... they killed her... they killed my mama..."
she rambled sadly as she clung to the warmth, still not even aware as to wom it was, just holding onto him, wanting to forget....

"Ore-Haba... laume-haira `uva meta..."
He whispered this and other things ever so softly, stroking her cheek in a gentle fashion as she clung to him, comforting with words.
"Be still... My heart is with you... Don't fear, Shieg... I'm here... Shh...."
He leaned over her as she clung to him, allowing her have the arm she was grasping so tightly. Yet that would not keep her quiet.
So he leaned over her, half laying on his side, legs pulled up, cheek resting on her forehead, keeping up his gentle elven-common combinations of comforting words in something hardly more than a whisper, laying the hand she grasped as to cut the circulation to his fingers off over her torso and continuing to stroke her cheek with the other.

Ever so slowly Sheig calmed down, loosening her grip on his arm to shift and hold him close like a child would her teddy-bear. Arms wrapped around his chest and upper back, she whimpered placed tiny, gentle kisses on his neck.
When she finully fell silent her head rested in the crook of his neck, arms holding him tightly-but not harmfully.
A lovers embrace.

To any present in the room, which there weren't, it would have been obvious that the man became uncomfortable the moment the woman's arms wrapped about him.
But there was no one to save him from this, and he was afraid that if he pulled away, she would begin her screaming again.
The kisses on his neck and the pausing of her face in his shoulder as her embrace became more fierce were quite enough though.
He untangled himself from her arms, ever continuing his soothing words as he sat up and on the edge of the bed again, though he did continue to lean over her softly in order to continue his soft speech through the storm's sounds so that she could hear his words.

When the feeling of warmth left, the girl curled up into a tight ball, rather pathetic really, hugging her legs to her chest and long silver hair splayed out behind her.
Even in this pathetic fetal-position she looked beautiful, like a doe with the hunters bow inches from its face:
Terrified, yes, but utterly mystifying. Beautiful, the doe would be, large eyes watching serenly for death to take it, but still that defiant fear in the back of its mind, heart telling the beautiful creature to run, to live.
Sheig had that serene terror on her face, but amazingly, only a few oments after Aricin shied away from her, the storm abated.
as the last raindrops stopped, her eyes flickered open. She looked blearily up at Aricin, and sat up, flushed with embarrasment.
"Oh dear, I was that loud was I? I... Im sorry for any discomfort I might have caused you in my sleep. You need not have come, I would have quieted eventually..."
She she glanced at Aricin, it was only an hour till dawn and it looked like he hadent even slept for ten minutes. She gently ran a hand along his cheek, lighte than a feather,
"Oh, you look dreadful... did I really deprive you of sleep? I am so so sorry... its the storm, Im not always this bad...."

"Only because I was already awake," he answered softly, rather surprised she'd pulled out of sleep so calmly and quickly. "No one else came calling, so I highly doubt that they heard you."
He whispered something to himself in the same tongue he'd used with Shieg while she was terror-stricken through her sleep, rolling the beautiful elvish as he stood.
"As you're doing alright now, I believe I'll take my leave, Lady Shieg. I will see you in a few hours, no doubt."
He stood, turning away in something that might be guessed as modesty for the fact that he had come down shirtless, though he really was not modest about himself, only turned quickly so as to remove himself from the room.
