Ive officially freaked him out. Thats gotta be the long and short of it. Good job sheig, any chances you had left with this great guy are sooooo gone.
She smiled and him though, lushus lips curvd into an irrisistable smile- unintentional, and of course he would be one to resist.
"I await seeing you later on..."
She yawned softly, looking more exaughsted than when she had headed off to bed,
"And we both shall probably be falling asleep at the table... I hate it that I have woken up so tired, and I hate it even more that I have caused you such discomfort."
She pouted softly, lower lip pushed out in the comic acheivment of looking infinatly cute. Very few could master that face, and Sheig perfected it.
"As long as the weather holds, Im... sure you wont be as bothered..."
She spoke as to his comfort, not her own. It was as if her raw terror meant nothing compared to Aricin getting a good nights sleep.

But never once did he turn to look at her as she spoke, only eyed her in his perepheral vision for a simple moment.
Then he simply opened the door and stepped out of the room, paused, and closed the door behind him.
Indeed, it may have been rude to say nothing at all to the girl--but what was there to say? Hopefully she would sleep, else he'd be visited by ano--
"Well, my lord Aricin?"
"What are you doing here, Dima?" asked Aricin as he turned to the younger man.
"I heard her screaming through the storm. But when they calmed, I simply waited. And I came out here just a moment ago to check on her--"
"So that's three of us without decent sleep, no? Why couldn't you just sleep after she calmed? Haven't you left Akila alone?"
"Sound asleep, my lord. Haven't you left Shieg alone?"
"What does that have to do with anything, Dima? Go back to bed. Lack of sleep is affecting you tremendously. Or if you won't, at least allow me."
"I heard both of you singing. You're in love with her despite yourself, Aricin. Don't be."
"Yvis! Eru have mercy, if you don't calm down and keep your nose out of business, especially that that is not true--"
"You'll what, my lord? Take away my rank? I honestly don't care, my lord. Take away my rank. I can't do anything with it under the circumstances anyway."
Aricin nearly snarled as he turned on his heel and disappeared up the stairs.

Sheig had lain down into exaughsted half-sleep while the two spoke outside of her door, only half-hearing their words, and would most likely forget them in the morning.
She was so tired.
The exotic beauty fell into a fitful, if dreamless, slumber, a soft frown upon her face. She had tugged the blankets up so that only her nose and upper face where visible, and was surrounded by warmth until mroning.
Five hours later... mid morning
Sheig awoke, slightly better rested. Last night came as being so foggy, she couldent remember anything after when Aricin left.
Sheig slipped out of the covers, dressing in a loose blue velvet shirt that was fashioned to look almost like a dress, as it went to her knees with slits up the the waist. Her pants where loose and black, shapely to the hip but widening slightly as they draped down to her ankles, where they tightened up, the larger part making it look slightly poofy and the tunic haning over.
((yeah, yeah, I gave her a japanese style outfit ^_^ it looks goot on her though))
She let her hair say in its thousands of tight braids, chimes and glass taking only a few minutes to be re-woven in. She admired the Tunic in her looking glass:
It was, as was said, down to her knees with slits to the hip, and made of royal blue crushed velvet. toggle-buttons made their way from above her right breast down to her left hip-slit.
She smiled, ruby lips curved happily. These elves where very talented with their clothes-making. She left her lions claws/paws where they where, and left her room without shoes. Bothersome things shoes where, and she was sure she wasnt the only one who didnt wear them.
Whilst standing outside her room for a moment, she wondered idly which room Dima slept in... he seemed to be her national guide around this place.
Unfortunatly, scince she had awoken so late, the servants had already passed, done laundry, and prepared for the morning meal. Although that hadent progressed yet, most where now down in the kitchen and non in the hallways, so there was no one to ask directions of.

Quick footsteps approached from further down the hall. And from around a corner appeared an obviously very weary Kalmyr. He was, however, neat as ever, very front part of his hair pulled back into the neat braid that was custom of the elves, clothes of deep brown straight and neat, booted lightly.
HE caught sight of Shieg in his perepheral vision and glanced up, a quick smile suddenly coming over his features.
"Well then, have we another late riser? Wishing to visit the table this morn? Well, I must say, the meal might be nearly over by now, but it's easy enough to get what you want even at this point. Hope you like fruit and bread, for that's pretty much breakfast. Eh?"
He offered his arm cordially, eyes twinkling brightly, though they still held that hint of weariness.

Sheig smiled brightly,
"Ah, my savior! Im glad Ive met somone along the way, else Id have probably ended up in a broom closet, much less the dining hall."
She took his arm politly, million-braid hair shifting slightly. She eyes his single braid,
"You elves are so strange, only one braid? my, doesnt that get boring...?"

"We male Elves wear only one braid for our bangs in the back-- and that's those of us that do. Some of us simply tie them back, some do nothing with the bangs, just allow them to hang. The women do what they please with their hair, as you might have noticed last night."
He seemed quite happy to share something that he knew much about--the citadel life--with the girl who yea, knew so little about it. He was simply the fellow to strut his stuff when he had it and pretend to when he didn't.
"But here, pay attention. Stairs, then left. Then you simply follow the noises of the crowd and you're there. It's simple enough, just remember to take the right staircase from the rooms--which is just to your right, and a left at the bottom."

"Everyone in my family have their hair like mine... male or female. Well, I mean, they used to."
She listened intenly, aware that he was so obviously enjoying himself. She chuckled,
"Im not to sure Ill remember that, but I guess forgetting directions gives me a better excuse to explore this place... its so beautiful. I could spend a lifetime here...."
ruby lips curved upwards happily. abnormal golden eyes shining slightly.
"Its so much more inviting than Menzoberranzan, the crow city. I was captured as a child and grew up in utter darkness, and not without my share of beatings... youll be amazed at how well those nasty drows have perfected torture."
She shuddered in a slight hint of sympathy for those who got on the wrong side of a drow elf. But nothing could ruin this exotic beautys good mood.

"No worries, Shieg, my dear. I believe you. I've never seen or heard of the exact methods, but I can guess well enough, I suppose."
He then paused, turning to her again with that usual charming smile.
"How did you sleep last night? Through the storm, I mean. It was a pretty bad one. We rarely get storms like that here. Many start at them... I even had a bit of trouble sleeping through it, considering that right as I plopped into bed it started pouring down. Now I sleep like a rock after I get to the state, but if something's bothering me before that, good luck. And that thunder..."
He shook his head slightly, shuddering as they came to the bottom of the stairs, then turned the left. And indeed, the voices of many folk met their ears, though for the morning and noon meals there was no music, only random chatter.

She shuddered heavily beside him, fear flashing accross her face. She looked forward, shaking her head and laughing,
"Dont even ask! I am deadly afraid of the dark, much less storms of such magnitude... my nightmares where so loud Lord Aricin actually came down to see what was so wrong..."
Her smile faded slightly, into a rather soft, sad look.
"I don't think he likes me much. Well, past friendship that is, Ill admt, my friend, I believe Ive fallen for the secretive elf."
She shrugged,
"A losing battle, I know."

~Later~
Sheig walked down the hall, sniffling and sneezing. Blaming her earlier tumble into the fountain for her current cold and headache. It could be considered quite comic, how everytime she sneezed her hair would tinkle musically, and she'd grumble about the noise, only to sneeze again and completely loose hope stopping the infernal racket.
As with all whome suffer from such an ailment, it felt like hours until the poor girl Sheig reached her room, leaning on the door and fumbling with the knob.
"Ach... Dahm elvish doors ahnd their dahm-ed knobs...."
She muttered sleepily, finully prying the well-oiled door open and dragging herself into the room. She left the door half-opened (as she was now utterly peeved at the thing) and collapsed face-down into the soft fluffy bed, legs from the shin-down still dangling from the beds edge.

Kalmyr, for some random reason or another, per'aps damnable by the maiden, passed along another adjacent corridor to hear the sniffling, sneezing, and tinkling of Sheig, knowing it to be her only for the jingling of the pieces of glass and such in her hair.
He could but shake his head and move off towards her room. Seeing the door partially open, he entered on his own accord and stepped silently over to her, green-blue eyes taking the scene with both worry and humour flashing in them. An elf with a headcold!
He almost laughed, but refrained, and simply knocked lightly on the bedpost to catch her attention.
"Sheig, come, m'dear, may I get you something?" he asked softly as he lay a hand on her back, then began rubbing soothingly along her spine.

Sheig grumbled a few incomprehensible words into the soft downly pillow. Something about 'irritating pale faces and their loud banging... cant let a girl die in peace... ouch my head...' or something of the sort.
The hand only her back felt good though, and the savage absorbed the warmth of the elf's hand on her pack and the comfort it brung. She sat up with a sniffle, rolling over to face the noisy being. Her head rested against the pillows now. It was a wonder those shards of glass and parraphinalia didnt cut the back of her head when she did so...
"Oi, its yu. Kalmyhr...."
Her words where still little less than a grumble. The tough girl could handle any battle, for sure... unless it was against such a devilish invisible foe such as this.
Plainly put: she was a sucker for sickness. Hated it. Somplained throughout the entirety of it.
"I be wonten silence! and... no colhd. I'hm freezin' my nickers off..."

"Nickers, m'dear? Silly speech you've brought to us, hmm?" he asked appreciatively, grinning softly at the elven lass who had dislodged his hand from its comfortable position at the small of her back by rolling over. So now he sat down on the edge of the bed, patting her arm lightly.
"Lady Shieg, we do have herbs that could probably heal this minor ailment in but a moment's time, you know. Would you like me to retrieve some of those for you? You ask for no cold, this seems the best way to get it, correct?"
Regardless, he shifted the light covers out from under her light body and pulled them up over her well-shapen form up to her chest, then allowed himself to touch his hand lightly to hers again, under the covers or not.

She sighed through her nose, burnashed gold eyes slipping closed to blot out her mind from all the fuzzy lights floating around her head. Her lips parted into a ruby-red smile though, mind almost seeping into black unconciousness.
A real weakling for colds. Plus, Kalmyr hadent really done he4r a favor in listeneing to her and getting her warm. When she was cold she was awake, now all Sheig felt like doing was sleeping off the sickness.
"'erbs for healthe. Sounds likee... home..."
And then she was gone. Utterly at the mercy of illness induced exaughstion.

"Hmm..."
Kalmyr sighed, stood, shielded the few lights about the room--as well as pulled the heavy curtain to, and returned to lean over Shieg again, one hand brushing her hair lightly out of her face. The only light now came from the half-way open door, and he suddenly remembered her former fright. Would the sickness intensify her dreams? Or have her sleep heavier?
He sat again, straightened and tightened the blankets obsessively over her, then sat still. When someone else passed by, though--a servant--he called the attention of the woman. "Please... Some chamomile for the lady? She's a cold... Yes, I know, a cold. Nothing else you can give her while she sleeps is there?" At the shake of the head, he waved her off to fetch the herbs, then turned back to the sleeping plains elf.
When the woman returned with the chamomile and a few other herbs, Kalmyr smiled slightly in his charming way, took the stuff, and quickly set up a bowl of hot water with the herbs steeping in. The aroma from the steam soon filled the room, and he breathed it in relief.

She slept soundly, for the most part. By the time Kalmyr had made the chamomile concoction, Sheig had slipped into a dream-state. Her face was utterly relaxed, lips moving silently, forming words but not stating them.
Red silk fabric brushed gently against the weaving of the stone tower, was it night? was it day? such knowlage did not exist, for the windows shed both sunlight and shadow at once.
Dust on the steps, staining fabric from crimson to cream at the edges. The climb was high. Or was it low? the fabric swished in a comly way around the maiden who wore it. She was walking down. Down the steps to the top of the highest tower.
Music was with her. Always was she followed with the sounds of her childhood. The door was wood. Cherry, cedar, oak, all but none. It was cast in shadow from the window beside it in the narrow corridor. Also was it draped in light, for the hall was the largest ever known.
She was inside. The room was small and cramped. The roof was leeking, it was raining outside. But wait, the red dressed woman had yet to open the door. She opened the door and walked into the room. It was a sunny day, there where no walls, no roof. And there he was, where he would always be, dressed in midnight blue, wearing nothing but silver. The room smelled of chamomile tea.
"My dear, whatever took you so long?"
"would you have waited any longer?"
"An eternity, and you know it."
"Of course. But I would not have you wait, lover."
"Then you should have been swifter, dearest."
"I was trapped. But no longer....
"Aricin."
Sheig muttered and rolled over in her sleep, curling up slightly and sighed the contented sigh of one living in a pleasant dream.
In waking, she would not remember. But for now... it was best to let the girl dream of the one she had so erringly fallen for. It was fare that she did not get what her heart yearned for, for it was true that they where not destined for eachother.
But.. in her heart and her dreams, sheig was allowed to see him. At least for a while, as unrealistic as it was.

His eyes were clouded, lips pursed, chin resting in fists, elbows weighted on knees as he leant over, watching the woman sleep.
Aricin? Ah, not that again. He sighed, shaking his head. Well, she was obviously having pleasant dreams. Need he really be here? He began to stand, thought against it, and sat again, watching with furrowed blonde brows, waiting.
Aricin was leaving tomorrow. That everyone knew. He was going to Anoria for around ten days. Would then, he himself be able to free Shieg's mind to himself, as she had promised he could if only she were not tied down to the impossible infatuation with the Elven Lord? Maybe...
He touched her cheek softly and stood again, but this time brought a chair over and reclined in it, watching her with feet propped on the bedside stand, eyes half closed.

The girl awoke with a start, unlike the sleepy-minded Tiire who would have been awoken by nothing less than a cataclysm. She always was like this, with her mind always curious fo new things, her awakening was always sudeen, as if ther thoughts had decided she needed to awaken right then and find out new stuff.
Sheig sat up, just the mere scent of the chamomile in her sleep had cured her stuffiness, and apart from a mild headache she felt fine. It was about a half hour scince Kalmyr had pulled up a chair. The sunlight cascaded through the window in a soft radience, illuminating her shimmery silver hair and tiny flakes of dust filtering through the room.
The savage presumed the elf sleeping. She smiled.
"Surface elfs arre sou cute wehn thei arnt being all courtly."
laughter glimmered in her eyes, but brimmed on her lips as well. She laughed her special little laugh, a laugh of the sun peeking its radience through a cloudy day.

One eye opened all the way, while the other closed the rest of the way to allow this action, then finally, both marvelous blue-green eyes peaked out from within drastically pale skin.
"Cute?"
He shook his head, adjusted his feet in their position propped on the table.
"I don't see why anyone would think that a man with his eyes half closed and his feet propped up was cute. Then again, maybe it's the pointed ears and the wonderfully good looks," he managed to tease, throwing on a mock cocky look, lips twitching as he gazed at her, then pushed himself to sit up a little straighter, cracking his neck as he did so. "Mmm..."

She offered her careless, affectionate smile to her friend, yawning softly and standing. It was late afternoon, and the sun, although still shining brilliantly, as previously ddescribed, was sinking into the hills to begin a day on the other half of the world.
She shook her head, eyes crinkling with good humor,
"The most beautiful thinggs in liife ahr the natural ones. Waht could possibly be mohre natural thahn rest?"
