Sheig entered the room, noting its plain but suitable attire. She was a little confused about the bed, though. Sheig laughed softly when she sat on it and sunk down about three inches into the feather-soft cushions.
"Well, this is much softer than the futon Im used to..."
She said, too tired to even remember the servant had brought her food. She slipped out of her lions claws, removed the shards of glass and chimes from her hair, including her leggings and top, then slipped into bed naked.
She would porobably next be seen in about 18 hours from now...

A quick knock was given upon the door as Dima, clad in deep blue raiment with the insigna of the Guard and the circlet of leaf designs approached to fetch the woman for dinner.
There was the chance that she was already up-- but he doubted it. Yes, it was into the evening, but this woman had been close to fainting last night, if he guessed right. And he, of all people, was not one to naturally sleep so long.
So he waited for the door to be opened as his mind drifted. Had she woken at all to eat? Had there been clothing brought by for her? Generally, there would be one set of garments the first day, and if it became obvious that they would stay longer, more clothing was provided. However...

Sheig awoke with a start, she had been sleeping on the edge of the bed, and well... promptly fell off. The most heard by the elf with an intake of breath, a light thump and a yelp.
Sheig got up and lookec around for her clothing, expecting it to be where she dropped it but noting somone had neatly folded the blood stained tunic and breeches, her weapons lay just beside it.
Near that there seemed to be somthing made of silk or velvet, she inspected it curiously, only to find that it was a dress.
Shrugging, her clothing right now wouldent do, she dressed in the shapely outfit and glanced in the mirror, whistling softly.
The elves really had good taste.
They had brought her a black silk, clinging outfit with low shoulders and although alightly revealing, was also courtiously modest.
the sleeves where slited and hung like drapes down to the floor, 2 slits in the skirt part strated just below her hips and ended with the dress just half a centimetre above the ground.
It accented her eyes, sking, and hair perfectly.
Sheig opened to offending object that separated her from the person who nearly made her get a concussion falling off the (in her opinion) ridiculouslty high bed, and she grinned brightly when she saw it was Dima.
"Dima! you look splendid..."
She said, looking over his outfit.

As the door was opened, a thick, dark brow lifted, nearly disappearing behind his hair.
"Are you okay?" he asked as he glanced at her, having heard the thump and yelp. "You hit the ground fairly hard-- didn't hit the bedside table, did you?"
He paused only a moment-- enough time to start a single word, before speaking again, as she obviously wasn't hurt at all.
"You look beautiful. Of course, the elves here have rather a taste for nice clothing. If you stay longer, you'll have another outfit or two for the evenings, and a few far less formal gowns for the daytime-- generally more comfortable. But come, are you hungry? It is nearly time for the evening meal to begin. You may have a seat by me, or elsewhere if you wish. Do you dance?"
He was rambling-- something he didn't do usually. But she was new to the citadel, possibly this whole way of life-- and his mind couldn't seem to get fully past the events of the night before as well as the dreams.
"There will be plenty of food... Like a feast, but an every day event. And wine... ale of any kind, really. And... well, you'll see, nay? But only if you wish the food now. Mind--"
He cut himself off, shook his head in humour, and extended an arm.
"M'lady?"

She laughed, a sound like the chimes that now adorned her hair once more. It was true, this was a new experience for her, but she took his arms gracefully, eyes twinkling with humor.
"My seat will be beside yours, Dima, If it were with anyone else I fear I would feel even more out of place!"
She followed him down the corridor, Hips brushing his lightly as they swayed with her fluid walk. Even looking so delicate and beautful in this dress, the plains elf still held an aura of complete control.
"I do dance, yes. Tiire tought me..."

Tiire...
The name brought a mental shudder through him. He kept his outer control though, not allowing the shudder to reach his body. And he even kept an air of nonchalance to the whole matter, keeping only the charming smile of before.
"Lovely... We shall have to join in one or two after our eating is finished, I suppose. It's... been quite a while since I've danced."

"Same"
She said with a smile,
"Dont worry, we can help eachother. I cant wait to dance!"
especially with somone so nice as you, my friend.
she thought to herself, beautiful smile fixed upon her features. Such a kind man he was, but she feared for him. She was used to losing friends and comerades all the time, even though it still hurt like hell, but him...
She cast a glance his way, full of caring, but holding no trace of pity. She hated pity...
He had lost his dear friend, and earned what from the encounter? a bash in the skull.

Later, with Aricin
She smiled and nodded at his explanation. It was solid enough, still... she had been so sure. Sheig smiled thoughtfully as he walked away, he obviously was very bad at getting people to be less interested in him.
Chuckling contentedly and with a smile on her face she entered her room, undressing and flopping wide awake onto hre bed naked, just laying there as the moonlight bathed her shapely form.
She lay wide awake for a few hours, reminiscing. Her window was open, and those that walked below her, perhaps even those in rooms above the woman, could hear her sing a soft tune....
"Some say love, it is a river That drowns the tender reed Some say love, it is a razor That leaves your soul to bleed Some say love, it is a hunger An endless, aching need I say love, it is a flower And you it's only seed...
It's the heart afraid of breaking That never learns to dance Its the dream afraid of waking That never takes the chance It's the one who won't be taken, Who cannot seem to give And the soul afraid of dying That never learns to live
And the night has been too lonely And the road has been too long And you think that love is only For the lucky and the strong Just remember in the winter Far beneath the bitter snow Lies the seed that with the sun's love, In the spring, becomes a rose."

Her song ended in a sigh and she paused for a second, then started another. She must have looked ly a goddess, laying sprawled on the bed utterly naked, her molten silver hair sprawled around her, skin bathed in moonlight, golden eyes glittering as she sang with a voice that the goddess of music would have envied for itself.
"If I was your love I would want only you I'd lay at this altar give all i am, all that is true
And this old scarlet letter won't keep me from holding you, and there is nothing you can do nothing you do nothing you do
For love I have scaled the face of these kingdom walls so let down your hair let our kiss make, fools of them all
And this old scarlet letter won¹t keep me from holding you, and there is nothing you can do nothing you do nothing you do nothing you do
nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing
And this old scarlet letter won't keep me from holding you and there is nothing you can oh, there is nothing you can do no, there is nothing you can do can't do..."

Sheig listened to Aricin sing, shoken that he could have heard her. But she listened to his song with pleasure, and the next time she sang she sang with heart breaking emotion,
"Its to bad... to bad that I cant hold you in my arms, and it is to bad... to bad that I cannot caress your flesh, have your fingers run through my hair... wake up and see your face.
And its to bad that I miss you, even though you where never there...
and my lips they yearn to kiss you, though they where never meant to dwell... upon the forbidden fruit... the forbidden fruit of you.
My heart it aches for the unknown, so I guess it aches for you... Its to bad... just, to bad... that you where never there...
Never there in my time of need, even though my only need was you, and my only regrets, my only regrets...
wher never telling you..."

She just continued to hum little melodies, but that night her voice did not again reach the ears of any listening. She just hummed softly, quietly.
so much for singing to relieve tension. Wh is this man so intent on hurting me? that song you last sang Aricin, that hurt...
She lay there silently, closed her eyes. Perhaps... one more song... just to tell him...
"My heart it sings to be loved, and yet, I know it cannot be. Even though I yearn for your touch, I know I cannot dwell...
I know I have naught to fear, your heart is as kind as your mind is great,
But as I reach out for you I know, we could never be....
My feelings are to be hidden, my heart is hollowed with another hole, but Ill stay my silence, oh, my dear, so as not to hurt you, and to protect myself....
Long at night I would wait, for my faerie prince to whisk me away, and as I lay here now, I know that prince is watching me.
He stands behind the steel doors of the love in which another shares with him, so I will stop my wait, and lay here to be left behind.
Do not fear, dear heart, I am strong enough to bear the pain, its only another hole, in a heart riddled with much more pain..."

“Look what I've done This picture I've painted It looks like my heart Or what still remains
Convinced of the weight Your interpretations Are not what I see I wish they could be
I remember it much redder I remember it much brighter”
Could it be that his voice rested now just outside her door?
“Can you stay for a while Try to imagine this Could you be for a while I can't remember it Could you fall for a while I can't escape from this
I'll try to explain The way that the frame Doesn't quite fit the image Or surround the edge
It stands on display What do you see? Behold all the new grey What's become of the old me
I remember it much redder I remember it much brighter…

Sheig quickly snatched the clothing that the servants had sent up, lest the elf walk into her room to see her laying there naked. She threw on the tunic, it was low cut to reveal the front curves of her breasts, (not extremly revealing, but it is a thing one would throw on to sleep in or just laze around in) and was so indecently cut it just barley reached her thighs.
She had done this in silence, wondering if she should go to the door or not.
Her hair was still wet, and it tumbled down around her, damp braids wetting the tunic slightly, in the light it would be a tinge see-through. It was an outfit Tiire would have worn just to unnerve Silas. Or just to convince him into shagging her sensless.
In anycase, it was all she had at the moment without having to make the lord wait indecently long.
Sheig walked to the door, opening it with a smile. She opened it the whole way, not just a crack, as she already knew whome it was that was there.
"I did not expect to see you again so soon... m'lo-"
She paused, the word sounded strange on her tounge, so instead,
"Aricin..."

A muscle in the man’s cheek twitched. But he wanted to fall at her feet and bless her when she paused in the middle of speaking the words ‘My Lord’. Those words had caused him so much pain… They were so—impersonal.
“I have no choice, Shieg, but to tell you truthfully that you’re hurting me. I want to ask—“
He paused, took a breath to calm his frantic heart, leaning against the wall as he gazed straight into her eyes and nowhere else. He took no notice of her damp hair or her clothing, simply kept his eyes on her face, ever maintaining that eye contact.
“I want you to forget everything that’s happened tonight. At least everything that’s happened between you and me. Or at least don’t bring it up. There will be people around here spreading rumours after seeing me walk out of the dining hall with you—and dancing with you. They know I haven’t danced with anyone in ages too. And this creates an uncomfortable situation for me, if you know what I mean… It will be hard to forget about it with all that going around, but… just don’t mention it.”
He sighed a moment, finally gazing downward at the floor, eyes trailing over the trail of his boots, then back up to her face, eyes gentle.
“You can’t have it, as you’ve said in your songs… And I’m sorry if I’ve hurt you… But it’s something that simply cannot happen, Shieg. You have my utmost admiration—but you simply do not have any kind of love that you want from me. Undying friendship, yes… But intimate love, no.”

"Of course I wasnt going to say anything. Did I not already tell you? where you not listening to my song? I heard and understood you, you need not be here having this convorsation with me.... its hurting me to see my heavens be dimmed emotions causing you pain!"
She took a deep breath and let it out in a sigh, chimes tinkling in her braids,
"Go. As you said yourself, your people are waiting. They are more important than the foolish... child... standing before you. You wish me to keep quiet and I shall."

He simply stood, arms crossed, gazing at her for a few moments. He then turned away, but stayed in the way of the door, heel pressed against the doorway. He then sighed again, closing his eyes a moment before starting into soft words.
“You break me open, turn on the light Stumble inside with me, with me
Do I entertain you? Do I preoccupy you with my wit to cover this lie? Are you mesmerized? Do you think me faithful, do you think me a clown? I picked out this shirt, I put on this hat I wore all this paint just for you…”
Massaging his face a moment, he turned back to her again, placing his toes against the door and leaning in the way of it, against the doorway.

Sheig had taken a step back into the room when he turned away, but stopped when he turned back and leaned against the door.
By the name of heaven, she yearned to embrace him. hold him close, tell him everything would be okay. Nasty little girl cousing him greif would leave, everything would be fine....
But nasty little heart-sick girl had no where to go. And felt that if she embraced this man he would simply shatter and be whisked away by the wind, like dust in a storm.
He did not need her affections, told her so. So she would slip so eaisily into the column of friend? no... it wasnt that eaisy...

“May I come in?” he asked softly after a long few moments of pause.
He then paused a moment longer, brows furrowed as he continued to lean against the wall in the doorway, gazing at her in a curious way.
“Dima will close for me if I don’t go back. I believe there is something much more important to deal with here, if you don’t mind my company for a while… If you don’t mind talking… With me for a while…”
He fell silent again, grey eyes beseeching her as he frowned slightly, never yet taking his eyes away from her face unless they fell to his own feet again, but they would then flash immediately up to her face again.

"Of... of course! come in..." She moved so that she was sitting on her bed, legs curled up slightly. (lets hope aricin doesnt fall to his knees or he'd get a view of her bum lol) She had her hands in her lap, gazing at the man concernedly. In the shadow/ light she couldent help but thinking how the way he held himself, a certain stature, maybe it was just the way he held his expression, but it reminded her of Dima...

He closed the door as he entered the room, again leaning against a wall, this time inside the room, gazing at her with that same odd expression.
The way the light fell over her face and one side of her body made her appear even more beautiful than she had originally appeared. So unbearably beautiful…
But again, she was simply a young woman, much too young for himself, and how could it work anyway? Even if he wished for it to be?
He stepped coolly over to her, arms crossed once more, then set himself down beside her on the bed, uncrossing his arms and placing his hands on his knees with another quick sigh.
“Shieg…”
But he stopped, only gazing at her with a now slightly more gentle look, and the slightest of smiles
