Leaves rustled as the two proceeded through the forest. This was a new land, and their intention was to explore somewhat. As they came nearer, only one sound gave away just what walked through the forest at this time. Light footsteps clicked lightly off of stone as the great animal walked over rocks. A deer, one whom moved gracefully despite it's large size.
Someone rode upon the stag's back, a young woman with a blue cloak. At the time, the cloak's hood concealed her face. Her hands gripped at the deer's specially designed red-brown reins, though she made no attempt to guide the animal. The deer acted on its own, seeming to know exactly where it was going.

It so happened that a dwarf came out of nowhere, running with great speed. His Auburn beard flowed bumped around awkwardly as his stout figure dashed across the pathway. After a while he stopped, breathing like a mad horse to catch up on oxygen, though he could've run a lot farther. He reached behind and took an axe from his back, weilding it with searching eyes. "Falmar, fool of an elf, dare you meddle with me, I'll chop your head off clean!"
"Silly Mr. Locks, always trying to lock me out." said a voice comically from the woods somewhere. Your axe would do naught before I had you pinned to a trunk by your beard. Good father Rapunzel, would you let down your fair braided beard?" he rang in a mocking voice.
'Not before I'd hang you with it!" he argued, enraged.

The deer halted and his rider peered from beneath her cloak at the dwarf. She wasn't quite familiar with dwarves, and she didn't fully understand what this one appeared to be babbling about. And there was someone else nearby...
The stag pounded one hoof upon the ground, wondering if he should continue forward or move on.
"Easy Baron." She commanded, giving the reins a sharp tug. The deer again calmed and remained still, both watching the scene ahead of them.

The dwarf, now sighing the deer and rider, gave a shout of horror, but before he knew it the elf was out of the woods and in front of him.
" Two travelers out in the forests, Mr. Locks. Don't run away! The fun is just beginning!" The dwarf gave a great swing of his axe, but Falmar moved quickly, and the axe stuck on the ground. The terror of an elf then stood on the blade perfectly balanced.
"Aye, young traveler! Fear not. I have him subdued!" he shouted from the distance.

The rider dismounted, seeming to melt from the deer's back and solidifying once more on the ground. She crossed her arms and watched the two, leaning against Baron.
Baron didn't move, even as his human friend started to snicker.
"Quite a sight, isn't it Baron?"
The deer nodded as he had been taught to do.

Mr. Locks was now fully fed up with Falmar's mischief. If it's one thing you learn, it's not to mess with the axe of a dwarf. It was this fury that drove him, by some inexplicable feat, to ump high enough, with the aid o f his bedded axe, to reach and grab onto the sensitive elven ear, which knocked Falmar completely of the axe. He, of course, gifted with elven grace, landed on his feet, but was bent by the ears to a low crouch. The immense pain was seen by the obvious expression on his face, which pleased the dwarf to a great extent.
Por Falmar. He was completely at the mercy of the highly vexed dwarf.

(Dwarf has a silly name.^_^*giggles*)
Mevra mounted the deer once more and tapped his sides lightly with her heels. Baron pulled back a little and lurched forward toward the dwarf and elf, his antlers lowered slightly.

Falmar, trying to focus through the pain, thought quickly to pull the dwarf's beard, but ust as he was doing so the dwarf cryed and Falmar turned to see the sharp points of antlers headed directly for him. The Dwarf instanly relieved his ear, and before he knew it Falmar was heaving him to safety, the elf himself leaping up to the branch of a tree above, where his flexiblility allowed him to catch hold of it with his legs and roll up to the right side. The dwarf, meanwhile, cursed at the top of his lungs.

Baron skidded to a stop and turned to look at the two, Mevra laughing.
"Well now, wasn't that a bit of fun?"
Baron dug his antlers into the ground, sharpening them against some tree roots as Mevra released his reins. A hoof pawed lightly at the ground and then the deer once more stood tall and motionless, his head turned upward.

"A bit of fun?" roared the dwarf, uttering daunting words under his breath, "A BIT of FUN!? Why, I ought...!"
"Yes, you ought, you ought," said Falmar interrupting as he leapt off the branch, "But, pray, young travelers, why did you charge at our childsplay?

"For the reaction of course."Mevra crossed her arms. "Thought I'd actually let ol' Baron harm you?"
Baron snorted and reached his head down, nibbling at some greenery that had caught his eye.
"Seems my humor is a bit...off?" She shrugged.

"No, I quite thank you for it. He would have torn my ear, I fear, had you not!" Falmar gave a malicious glance in the dwarf's direction, whos response was a tight grip of the axe.
"Blasted creatures.." mumbled Mr. Locks.
Falmar bowed and took the hand of the lady, gently pressing his lips to it, then introduced himself properly:
"I am Falmar, Elf of Avalbane, and this is Maloin, or Mr. Locks, a Dwarf of Zelnokh, if I pronounced that right" he said, giving Mr. Locks another look, though softer this time, "and who are you?"

"I am Mevra. My friend here is Baron." She gestured toward the deer.
Baron stepped forward to stand beside her and regarded Falmar judgingly. Finding the elf not a threat, he turned and looked to the dwarf and seemed to smirk a little.

"Baron," he repeated, noding towards the deer, "He is a magnificent creature of his kind."
Maloin relaxed, used to this sort of judgement. He, in fact, was proud of the reputation of dwarves, so he was quite satisfied. Now, by no means were Falmar and Maloin friends. They were simply minding each other for the sake of their people, thought they both enjoyed a good arguement at times. More of their relation would be revealed later.
"Are you headed to Avalbane? Or maybe on of the human settlements? Anoria?"

"I don't know any of these lands, so I'm just exploring I suppose..." She patted the deer and grabbed hold of his bridle.
Baron pulled lightly to look back at the dwarf, not used to seeing one like him at all. But Baron was trained better than that and stopped tugging away, standing still beside his rider.

"And I an Native to this land. It is my home, and I am happy with it, though Feoras doesn;t seem to be so bad..." he rambled, looking at nothing in peticular.
"Elven rambling," Mr. Lock scoffed, shaking his head, then turned to the new aquiantance. "I surpose we could take you 'round the place, seeing that your beast allowed it." he offered, knowing nothing of the talk of folk other than his, which mostly consisted of mining accidents, ale, and beards.

"That would be nice, I'm sure. How 'bout it,Baron?" She released his bridle so the deer could nod and patted the fur along his neck. "Good boy."

"Alright, then m'lady. Where shall we hence, then?" said the elf as he drew a leave from the fine dark mop atop his head.

"I don't know, you choose." Mevra hadn't made too many choices for a long time now, leaving it up to Baron on where they were to go. Now she had to admit she trusted Baron on a bit too much.
Baron stuck his nose into her pocket and seemed to be looking for something, pulling out a piece of paper.
"Baron! That's not for you! Give it here!" Mevra snatched at the paper and Baron just stepped away, holding it over her head.
"That's not funny!"She crossed her arms and glared at the deer.

" If you don't mind my asking, lady, what is it?" Falmar interrogated, confused. Mr. Locks simply waited patiently, not half so curious.
