Mevra listened to the soft tune and pressed a hand to her ear. "How peculiar..." She blinked and looked at her hand, where a few blue feathers had appeared. She cursed lightly and shoved her hands into her pockets, shaking her head and muttering to herself. "Dumb feathers..."

Maloin stepped back and yelped. "What was that?" he shouted, axed raised.

"What was what?" She blinked and looked to the dwarf. She rubbed her fingers against her hand and, satisfied that the feathers were no longer there, took her hand out of her pocket. Her eyes peered at her hand, making sure the feathers were indeed gone.

" That, that..." he puffed, flabergasted, eyes fixed upon her arm. The poor dwarf didn't know what to think anymore, so he simply waved it off and continued, lips muttering something about senseless elven incantations.

Mevra smiled a little. The poor dwarf, if only he'd seen her wings, then he'd be in quite a state. Luckily only the feathers had made their appearance. She looked to her hand again, noting that the feathers had again appeared. They'd probably keep showing up... reacting to the cold air.

A bright orange fox crept silently through the foliage, drawn to the voice and it's coaxing, enticing enchantment. The notes were kind and powerful, sweet and clear as they gracefully rolled off his tongue. The bright orange creature approached warily, cocking her pointed face in awe and uncertainty. Finally the vixen was overcome and the animal came forth, soft pads muting her advance.
It was then that all the forest hit a sad, blatent note, and all the animals scattered, though they did not run far. The voice suddenly glided off key and held one solitary note of lamentation, then hushed. Now only the eerie hum of the trees filled the forest, echoing the voice. (Hrm, try C sharp)

Baron backed away at the change in the tune, but didn't move much farther. He was curious, and it was that curiousity that held him there.
Mevra closed her eyes, half listening to the song and half enjoying the cold weather. One of her wings fluttered a little and then settled back.'Wait a moment...' Her eyes opened and she stared at her arms. They had indeed turned to wings...not like that mattered anymore when she looked down at herself. She was a light blue hawk, only standing at about three feet in height. Some of her feathers were highlighted with a darker blue. Her beak, as that was what was on her face now, was a midnight blue, just as were her talons. "Oh feathers! I've just got to stop dropping the temperature so darn low!"

The dwarf gave another shout and a few birds flew out of the trees. He now ran, eager to come across his companion; to know a familiar face. One hundred feet away Maloin stopped, staring at the scene in front of him. He saw Falmar kneel silently to the ground, right arm outstreched towards a small orange figure whose nose stretched out to take in the scent of the unfamiliar elf. The dwarf jumped when Falmar abruptly hit a soft note, tongue creating a tune that seemingly came from nowhere; obvlivion. Some unknown phemonema brought back painful memories locked away in secret chambers. A lost love was plucking the strings of his heart.
The fox adopted him, curling up in his arms as he vibrated with the low, soothing notes of his song. The trees sprung forth with lamentation.

Mevra watched the dwarf and shook her head, kicking up off the ground and gliding along after him. Her wings brought her silently beside him and her beak turned upward, looking first at Maloin and then to Falmar.
Baron noticed her right off and gave a grunt of question, tilting his head to the side.
Mevra just smiled innocently at the deer and shrugged.

Maloin ran forth, jolting with memory.
"Deranged elf?! Cannot you see the new coming cold? 'tis not the doing of nature!"
Falmar suddenly came alive, cheeks growing rosy again as his lips alighted with a pinkish glow, fading away from blue. The fox sprung from him and he watched mournfully as she slipped away into the shadows.
"I know," was his only reply. He turned to face the light blue bird in front of him.

Mevra seemed to smirk. Of course it wasn't nature's doing... a cursed on like her self wouldn't leave nature to do what it will. Instead, she'd changed it.
Baron trotted lightly over to Mevra and lay down nearby, still staring in wonder at Falmar.

Falmar nodded silently, still reflecting. Maloin jabbed him with the handle of his axe
" Dear Father, you aren't in a dream. Jab yourself with that point and you'll feel it. Could not you feel it in your blood before? She's a shifter."

"A cursed is the term I prefer..." Mevra spoke up. "Cursed of 'Ice Blood'."
Baron stretched out carelessly, obviously used to Mevra as a bird.

" A curse? Spoiled blood? These terms you prefer?" he interrogated as the sadness faded from his eyes. They rolled over to Baron, who seemed quite content with the situation.

"What I am is a Cursed, a human marked with the cruelty of a natural element. Mine is the ice bird, which if I wasn't just that right now I'd show you the mark. Being a Cursed is a rare thing." She shrugged. "I'm of 'Ice Blood', meaning my preferance is the bitter cold. I apologize for alterring the air, I try to not do it but it's just so much more comfortable than your preferred heat."

" No, I am sorry for being bitter when it is not my place. " he replied as he gazed ff into the distance, eyes glazed.

"That's quite alright." She looked up at Maloin and smirked, pecking lightly at him. "For a dwarf you're an aweful scaredy cat."
Baron snorted and stood, standing near Mevra.
Mevra stretched her wings and flew up to perch on the deer's back. "Not scolding me for teasing the poor dwarf, Baron? Now that's not like you." She grinned and climbed up to perch in his antlers.
Baron grunted and shook his head, finding Mevra too heavy.

Maloin felt shrunken even more than his curent stature. He shrugged it of, swinging his axe absent-mindedly
"Dwarf..." Falmar mumbled kindly, "I've heard of the deeds of your kind. Surely you do not demote yourself to the whims of the enchanted.
"I've heard of the deeds of fairies, too. They take unwanted teeth in the night. Perhaps they are not so bad..." he chuckled. Falmar laughed with him, for he did not take offense to anything Maloin said.

Mevra gave a small laugh, not preferring to do so as a hawk since her voice would crawl into whistle and sometimes even a crow cackle. "Anyways, I apologize for not informing you before of what I truly was but, you see, it's not easy to just blurt out such things. To say I was a three foot tall hawk would get me some rather strange looks, and some don't take too kind to weather manipulators either."

"To an elf of Avalbane? You've heard naught of the Anor, then. There isn't much you can hide from an elf, anyways. We feel magic, curses, enchantments in our bones, almost as one feels the cold.
